when I first saw this challenge the hymn Count Your Many Blessings... came right to my mind!! I am not sure I like the outcome of this page.. I may re-do it at a later date... but for now.. it works!!

CHALLENGE: no faces allowed

For this challenge you couldn't use a picture of a face. I took this picture a few weeks ago on my way to work with my iPhone... I love it.... the mist and the sunrise were so cool!! I used 2 new techniques I learned during Sunday speed scrap... the first technique was to do type a word and put use a photo to fill it in... and the second technique is selective color... I could have done it using photoshop but with My Memories suite... It went lickity split.... :)

I have been working on making elaborate clusters to set of or frame a picture... But this picture of Dean just needed to be simple... Half the stuff I put on there I deleted... Finally I figured out it just needed to BE the PICTURE and no distractions from it... Dean is the star of the page... not my design techniques... and I have to say... I am very happy with the results...

SCRAP-LIFTING is NOT a crime... or is it?

I recently was browsing thru Pintrest and someone pinned this gorgeous page!! I am not sure what exactly caught my attention but I loved it at first glace... and when that happens I know a scrap-lift is in the making. The original page has been done traditionally with paper... scissors and glue... and mine was done in the My Memories Suite 2 software program. The kit I used was called Morning Hush.... this kit is so versatile I have made 4 pages with it and I am still in love with it!!

The page above is made with just the stuff the software comes with... I had fun building it!!

Missed

This weeks challenge on My Memories is Remembrance... The word instantly brought to my mind Mom and how she is missed. To keep the pain at a distance I didn't want to write a bunch of flowery words so missed is all I let myself think of....

My Memories..... Up Coming GIVE-AWAY

The Lord works in the mysterious ways... and sometimes he just walks right into the front door of your life...
One night several weeks ago I received an email from a gal named Liz telling me how much she liked my blog and wondered if I wanted to have a give-away of My Memories software on my blog... the skeptic I am I got up and checked out their software and graphics.... I liked what I saw... so instead of just saying YES! I asked if they were looking for graphic designers too!! The next day I received an email from Bev... saying yes they were looking for designers and Bev was already familiar with my work from PCcrafter and seemed excited to have me interested in putting my work in their hands...
Today on Facebook I happened to notice that My Memories was having a scrapbook page challenge. The challenge was to create a All About ME page... Today was as good as any other to try out the My Memories software. Wow!! It was actually fun creating my ME page! The learning curve for me was mostly that the software was just so simple to use... I am use to using Photoshop. The My Memories software is as easy as just dragging and dropping!! I really like my page!

Once I got going with the software I couldn't stop myself... I ended making 4 pages of vacation photos. I have a photobook I purchased almost 2 years ago and I have never used it... so I now have 12 days to go thru over 1,000 photos and create a book.... :) I can do it and Steve is ready to help me... well he is ready to tell me I am doing a great job... he really liked the first 4 pages. I have the most supportive hubby!! Love him to the core!!

Etsy Customized Set...

My daughter in law asked me last week to design her a logo for her business... Took me a few days to get the inspiration and get the design going... but yesterday everything burst out of my head!! I personally love it... but I still don't know how she is going to like it...

Paper Magnolia

I am on a flower creating kick... this evening I created a paper magnolia. I have a few more paper flower ideas blooming in my head...but right now I am too tired to be creative.... I am going to get it up loaded then I am going to get my hind end into bed...

...it's official daisies are happy flowers!!

... and it made me happy making more.... They are rather quick and easy to make!! Pink was a special request from my daughter so here are some pink and white paper daisies!!
I am so easy to make happy... give me some paper and something fun to create... ahhh life is good!!

Paper Daisies

Today while surfing the internet I came across some adorable paper daisies... after looking at the image I thought hmmm I think I can make these... I opened my photoshop and designed the flower, then converted the .jpg file into an SVG (scalable vetor graphic) and then finally a SCUT2 file. I used my baby Circut to cut them out. I now have daisies all over my dining room... I have had a request to make a leis for a birthday party. I want to use one as a box topper for a gift box... many many uses for these happy little paper flowers!!
